Character Name: James T. Kirk
Series: Star Trek AOS comics 15 + 16
Age: 26
From When?: he just got himself blasted in the back by a Vulcan! good times, good times.

Inmate/Warden: inmate. he's unabashedly, unrepentantly evil. he destroys and kills and ruins things just because he's bored and likes watching things burn.

Abilities/Powers: nothing supernatural. advanced hand-to-hand combat, ability to survive in ferocious climes, known for killing people with his BARE HANDS.

Personality:
To put it bluntly, M!Kirk is unstable. Wildly, ferociously unstable. He's got absolutely no control as far as ignoring his inner whims is concerned, and this means he just barrels right into situations if he thinks he's got the upper hand. He's almost entirely a creature of instinct, a boy who grew up angry in a universe literally defined by war, and this means he has absolutely no qualms about doing anything and everything to get exactly what he wants. He'll break a man's neck just for the satisfaction of it, but he's by no means cold and calculating; he can be premeditative but he's ruled primarily by passion. He takes over the crew of the Enterprise to destroy an entire planet just because he hates the planet's inhabitants, and once he thinks he's apparently won he just about throws caution to the wind and starts gloating all over the place.

He's the very epitome of cocky. M!Kirk constantly gloats about his victories, liking to see the look on his opponent's face when he describes to them what he's about to do (kill them, destroy their planet, etc etc). He likes the feeling of being utterly, completely in control and leaving his opponent helpless, and when he thinks he's done just that he gloats every second of the way. Out of two comics he spends a majority of his time gloating and strutting about in his victory, usually before he even knows he's won without a doubt. It only takes the idea that he's won to set him off, which can make it very easy to slip under the radar and destroy him in the end. He's a sadistic little fuck who gets off on people's pain, and torturing or ensuring someone feels the most pain they can at the time, and the powertrips only go straight to his head.

Racism, racism, racism. M!Kirk feels Terrans are the end-all, be-all of power in the galaxy, and holds a special particular hatred for Vulcans. His grand scheme literally amounts to stealing a ship to destroy a planet, and he aids Captain Spock in the destruction of the Klingon homeworld just to get what he wants. His contempt for Vulcans knows no bounds and he feels himself justified in his attempted destruction of them- he insists he's acting in the best interests of the Imperium, even when he's told the contrary by a superior officer.

He's also got a severe contempt towards being inferior to anyone, even as a Commander in the military. He isn't afraid to blatantly ignore direct orders from superiors if he feels he's got the power to do so; when told by a Senator to turn his white ass around and come home, he responds with laughter, cockiness, the response that he's basically under no one's control, now- "I am the Imperium". With the power of the Narada, a ship he'd taken over once the Klingons and relinquished the crew to him, there wasn't a threat to him in the entire galaxy in his eyes, and he was quick to adjust his actions to show that. He's also severely disrespectful, especially when he believes the person he's speaking to is a threat; he refers to Spock Prime almost entirely as "old man", as if using his name would grant him more power somehow.

If nothing else, M!Kirk is angry. He's angry at his father for dying, and at the man who killed his father for doing so. He's angry at Vulcans for being in control over him, at Spock for being a captain. He's angry at everything in the universe, and that anger is primarily what pushes him forward. His impulsiveness is born of rage, and that means he's become particularly violent as a person: he kills someone with his hands, he threatens someone else with torture, he gloats before every kill he makes, especially if it's personal.

Like his mirrorself, M!Kirk is a genius. He's talented and smart, but he hasn't matured to a level beyond "boy with a magnifying glass and some ants to burn". He relies more on power and violence than logic, even when it would behoove him, though even his bumbling screw-ups show a brilliant mind beneath. He's capable of creating a mutinous crew on the Enterprise without the Vulcan Captain hearing a word of it. He's able to understand the basics of a situation with a glance. He's smart enough to get the codes to the ship he steals from weaker crew members before going for the captain.

His maturity level is incredibly important to his character. He hasn't ever trusted anyone beyond an assurance that he won't die standing in a room with them, and even then he's always on his guard and expects the worst. Unlike his mirrorself, M!Kirk's empathy is severely tainted and buried. His life has been a whirlwind of violence and hatred, and he's still stuck at an almost 10 year old level of maturity: everything and everyone can be manipulated to get what he wants, and he hasn't evolved emotionally beyond "smash". He's still wrapped up in his childhood, whether or not he realizes it, and this means he's still very much the bully in the schoolyard.

Barge Reactions:
Being someone who travels space, different worlds, creatures and canons won't bother him a damn bit. He won't even be bothered by his mirrorverse self being on the barge. He'll treat everyone with equal disgust and contempt, because he feels himself above them - he's the best in the Empire, damn you all, and he's going to take his revenge.

His initial reaction will be pure, molten rage. The fact that he's being detained against his will and without reasoning will infuriate him, especially since he just freakin died. He might fight right away if he's touched, but for the most part he'll be content to sit and fester in his rage, an animal trapped in a corner. He's used to being in a universe where detainment means death, and he's willing to fight for his life if need be.

Eventually he'll realize that his mirrorself is around, and he'll find a new hobby: pretending to be Kirk to ruin his happiness, his friendships, his life. He'll likely try and corrupt Kirk's inmates, if he can. He'll likely try to destroy someone close to Kirk, just to watch him suffer. Mirror!Kirk loves destruction and will get twitchy without it. He will ESPECIALLY be interested in ruining anyone near Spock and Spock himself, because in his world he just got his ass blasted by said Vulcan, and he's got a particularly racist view towards them besides.

His endgame is always control - he wants to control the barge and destroy it//other worlds//whatever he freaking feels like destroying with it. He wants to be the only one on top, so he can destroy everyone else beneath him. He'll likely try and work towards corrupting inmates, trying to pull together an uprising. He's eyeing the Admiral position and he wants it bad.

Path to Redemption:
He's got severe daddy issues, for starters, to the point where he finds the man who killed his father just to beat and kill him with his own two hands. It's an issue that his crew are afraid to mention in his presence, his father dying. Perhaps a father figure that inspires a need to make him proud will help M!Kirk along the most. He's never been able to rely on anyone, and he certainly has never been able to trust anyone, so putting him into a position where he can do both things could likely unravel his entire douchebag scheme. It would take a lot (oh my god like unbelievable amounts) of work, but it would ultimately do the most good.

He's also completely obsessed with power; power, as far as he's concerned, is the means to an end in what he wants to achieve. It's almost an afterthought, in his schemes: he wants to be in control so he can do what he wants and not have anyone in his way, not because he wants to control anyone. He doesn't want to rule the universe- he wants to destroy it in his own image. His entire system is looking out for number one. Losing control and being forced to see that his actions all have consequences might help rattle his cage a bit, knocking him from unstable and confident to unstable and unsure, where he will at least be able to make some new decisions.

M!Kirk's universe is one fraught with disaster and war, where everyone gets to the top with some form of bloodshed. He's constantly on his guard around other people, and has a tendency to be a firecracker who tackles through anything just to prove he can, but he can be patient if he thinks it's for his benefit at some point. (He managed to convince the crew of the ISS Enterprise into mutiny without a single one of them being caught by Captain Spock- he's very good at being patient when he absolutely must.) He could be convinced to work towards a long con of sorts with the right person- duped into believing that they're working together to take over the barge when they're in fact doing the exact opposite. That would likely calm him down quite a bit, especially if the prize offered to him is great enough.

Mind control is one of his absolute fears. He believes Vulcans are lesser than humans and despises them (mostly Spock) for the amount of power they hold within the Terran Empire. Forced telepathy or mind melds would absolutely set him off, sending him swinging between agreeing to work with whoever is threatening him and wanting to brutally murder them with his hands. The same could reasonably be said for drugging him out of his mind- he's pretty goddamn proud of who he is. He doesn't want to be watered down for any reason.

If he can begin trusting other people and focusing more on his intelligence rather than his brute force, he may be able to grow emotionally past his rage and violence into a mature person. His maturity is ultimately what's keeping him from moving on; at this point, he is content to be an over-the-top bully, punishing the universe for what's happened to him and what he's perceived as vile treatment. Where his mirrorself is passionate for and about people, he's callous and hateful; unearthing and cultivating his buried empathy drives are one of the keys to creating a better person.

History:
On the day of Kirk's birth, the Romulan mining vessel Narada burst out of a tear in time and destroyed the Terran warship Kelvin for no apparent good reason, presumably because the captain was captured and killed for no good reason at all, just as in the original alternate timeline.
